The government will give 5-5 kg of food grains to the poor in May and June for free.
In the second wave of Corona infection, the Central Government has announced a relief package for the poor in the midst of the loss of lives in most parts of the country. Under the National Food Security Act, or NFSA, the government will provide 5 kg of food grains to the poor in May and June. This scheme will benefit about 80 crore people of the country. According to the announcement made by the government, every beneficiary, ie, per person will be given 5-5 kg of food grains for two months every month for free. On taking grains other than five kilograms, they will be given rice 3 rupees per kg, wheat two rupees per kilogram and coarse grains of rupees 1 per kilogram. The government has said that it will be implemented in the same manner as last year’s Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana. The center will spend more than Rs 26,000 crore on this initiative.
